In Acqua di Parmas Zafferano, the warm and dry notes of saffron are distilled and combined with luminous notes of Italian golden fruits, like gilded sparks dancing with the intense spicy notes to create an unexpected and vibrant sensation. Italianity meets the ingredient’s origin land, the Middle East in Venice, the historical European gateway along the ancient spice route that represents a metaphorical intersection between East and West, embodying charm and mystery, richness, and dissimulation. The essence of an intimate, never ostentatious luxury that can only be fully appreciated and understood by those who know their history.
Acqua di Parma-Quality, elegance, creativity, and exclusivity – those are the values that Acqua di Parma fragrances have been based on for the past 100 years.
The exclusive niche perfume house of Acqua di Parma was founded in 1916 in the heart of the old Italian city of Parma. It was there, in a little perfume workshop, where some of the best masters of their craft created a modern, light, and fresh fragrance, so unlike the strong and intense German colognes of its time. The first Italian Eau de Cologne was made strictly from natural ingredients and its composition has not changed since.
Acqua di Parma Colonia Eau de Cologne became a symbol of the 1930s and its iconic look provided by an art deco bottle still remains the brand’s trademark to this day. However, it wasn’t until the 2nd half of the 20th century that Acqua di Parma reached international success and became a sought-after and exclusive fragrance house, rising to a veritable cult status among high society.
