This marvelous, ornamental plant, full of variegated colors and attractive fruits, capable of blooming the whole year round, was used by Lucrezia to decorate her gardens, that acted, above all, as secret refuges for its fearsome poison, masterfully hidden in the seeds of its attractive fruits. The fatal beauty of the plant was an inspiration for the secret plans of Lucrezia, who particularly loved this powerful poison because it left no way out for her victims. Even today, no effective antidote for this poison has been found, just as there is no effective defense against the persuasive force of this precious fragrance that opens with the sweet and bitter fruity notes of energetic Sicilian bergamot and orange, with the sweetness of peach and red plum.
